Myths and fables are narratives that were traditionally used to explain certain facts and phenomena, as well as behaviour patterns. Narrative is a tool we have been using to share fantasies and realities, world views and ideals.

Visual pleasure has always been part of art and culture. Mass media productions tend to focus on spectacularity, reinforcing voyeurism and relegating the player as a mere spectator bound to what’s presented to them. Are we working too much on pompous but empty containers? Are we underestimating the average consumer? Is it a tendency in games to produce in that direction?

About Andrea Sacchi:

Andrea started as digital and traditional artist, but now her roles are getting more and more blurry. Cofounder of Tahutahu, team of five working on Idearum, a 3D platformer puzzle game based in Plato’s myths, she’s in charge of art direction, production and development, among other things. Collaborator in FemDevs, Presura and Bemyhuman, she involves herself in any initiative that’ll make her local gamedev community more inclusive and friendly, thus better. Has worked in a variety of fields, specially for tech companies, doing games and apps for mobile platforms, computers and virtual reality.
