Jump through the top of the screen in Excitebike (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
In Excitebike for the NES, it's possible to gain enough speed and height from a jump that your biker will fly past the top of the screen and wrap back around through the bottom of the screen. Sometimes you can even jump high enough to land back on the course through the bottom of the screen.
The easiest way to achieve this glitch is to create a course of mostly jump ramps and cooldown arrows. These course elements are represented by the letters H and M on the course designer. So, spelled out, your course should sound like you're thinking about something very pensively:
HMMMM HMMMM HMMMM HMMM
or something like that. Better yet, you might make it sound like you're agreeing with somebody wholeheartedly:
MHMMMM MHMMM MHMMM MHMMM
Either way, make sure your course has plenty of jumps and arrows that will reset your bike's temperature (so you don't overheat). And also it's a good idea to set the lap total to 8 or 9 so you can play around on this course for a while.
Now play the course you've just designed. What you want to do is drive in the top lane and basically hold the B button and the right arrow on the d-pad the entire time. EXCEPT, just as you're landing from a jump, you want to hold the left arrow before going back to holding right and B.
To clarify, as long as you're holding left on the d-pad as you land from a JUMP (and not a bounce) you will usually not crash. You will bounce on your front tire while moving forward very fast, and as you're bouncing on your front tire, you should already be holding RIGHT and B again.
Eventually, you will pick up enough speed that you will jump through the top of the screen and even wrap back around through the bottom of the screen.
Note that this trick can be performed in numerous different ways. It isn't completely necessary to have the cooldown arrows on your custom course. In fact, you can even do this trick with the A button instead of the B button.
This trick is sometimes called the Super Big Jump or The Speed Trick.
