Smoking a flank steak became one of my favorite ways to cook it this year! This came out incredible and I’ll definitely be trying it more often with different marinades! I love a flank steak cooked hot and fast over charcoal, but this is a very very close second!

Marinade ingredients

¾ cup olive oil extra virgin
½ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 medium lime juiced
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tbsp dijon mustard
1.5 tbsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper ground

Combine all the ingredients for the marinade together and whisk! Then you can add the flank steak, i prefer using a container big enough to lay the steak flat and submerge it.

Avoid adding extra salt at this stage unless you use low sodium soy sauce, then you can add 1tbsp of salt to the mix.

Let the steak marinate for 30-60 minutes. Then take it out, wipe off the exceas marinade, and get it on the smoker at 225F

Let it cook hntil the internal hits 125, then sear however you prefer! I used a torch to avoid overcooking and get a controlled sear!

Let it rest 10-15 minutes, then slice against the grain and enjoy an incredible steak for wraps, tacos, or just good on its own!
