If I keep mentioning how long it was everytime I return to an old series, I feel like I'm gonna turn into a record player. November 2022, goodness me, really gotta give more love for this mod. Granted, finding maps to run with Sneaky Doom is tricky due to how it plays compared to a regular Doom mod (even HDest has more accessible maps), but still. I found another good one, let's just put it at that. I'm also using FreeDoom for today, mainly to mix things up a notch. Variety's always nice.

I actually had to do direct recording for this one. The mapset has nojump and nocrouch turned on, so I can't really do the sneaksies really well without tampering with the mapset to remove the restrictions (not in the mood to have two copies of the same mapset). Have to set stuff in gameplay options so I can do both without the direct modification.

I tried doing demo recordings with the settings on, but demo recordings don't actually account for your gameplay options, so in the test I did, it pretty much didn't work at all. It's a good thing that the map doesn't last too long that my HDD couldn't take it.

You might notice 2 extra bars in the HUD for this run. That's because I've been noticing strange behaviors when running Sneaky Doom with certain custom maps. I'm not sure if it's voodoo dolls that are the cause, it's just possible. Basically, the stealth in Sneaky Doom works with 2 systems, how visible you are and how loud you are when moving. There's an indicator for how visible you are with how transparent you are along with an inventory item that has a number, but no indicator for how loud you are.

Now, in those maps I mentioned, apparently something happened that makes your footstep noise counter continuously go up to the point where everyone can just spot you the moment you make a step. I was trying to run some DBP mapset in SDoom, and I just kept getting spotted no matter how far or well hidden I was. It was ridiculous. When I tampered GO'HUD to show those 2 indicators to debug the problem, I finally found out the culprit (partially) and changed mapsets to match.
