Thinking about it again, the traitor could've probably survived if he had locked the door from the inside instead of letting his guards have the key. A door that can withstand concentrated explosives? It's the perfect hiding spot.

Maybe less so if the opposing force knows you're in there, 'cause they can just wait you out until you starve or get bored, but still.
