The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the body of Lance Corporal Liam Tasker will be flown back to the UK from Afghanistan next week, together with the ashes of his dog, Theo. Today he was remembered at NATO HQ at SHAPE in Belgium, close to where his family live, when an annual Help For Heroes event was re-named the "Liam Tasker Challenge." On 1 March 2011, LCpl Tasker - from the Royal Army Veterinary Corps - was taking part in a patrol with his dog, Theo, when they were engaged by small arms fire. He was struck and died from the injuries he sustained. His dog Theo died in Camp Bastion after suffering a seizure.
