The first pilot to fly a rescue mission into Libya to bring out stranded Britons has been giving his personal account of the operations to British Forces News. Flight Lieutenant Stuart Patton and the rest of his crew picked up a total of 131 passengers and a dog on their three missions. It meant flying into the Libyan desert without permission from Tripoli's air traffic control - a daring mission. For Flt Lt Stuart Patton it was the second time he had entered Libyan airspace. The first saw him go to Tripoli airport to pick up 64 passengers.
