I start up a playthrough on Sonic Forces, this game released in 2017, and this is the Nintendo Switch version, this game is also on PlayStation 4 and XBox One. In this game, Dr. Eggman sets his evil plan on stopping Sonic for every failed plan throughout the games, and when Sonic arrives at the city, things do not go right for him.

Time to start a new playthrough on Sonic Forces, and this is the Nintendo Switch version I am playing. When we start up the game, we see Dr. Eggman working on his plan that nobody will ever stop after every failed plan, and that with his creation, he hopes to conquer the world, while Orbot and Cubot comment on Eggman being serious.
Then it is time to begin Lost Valley in Green Hill, which is like Green Hill Zone from back in Sonic the Hedgehog, but now it is covered in sand due to having fell under Eggman's role, and Sonic even comments on how the area has turned into Sand Hill. Sonic has received a call from Tails, who is at the city, which is under attack, and by the time Sonic arrives, he finds Dr. Eggman, but this time, he has brought along Shadow, Zavok, Metal Sonic, and Chaos, but they are not the only allies Eggman has, because a newcomer shows up, and Sonic is defeated effortlessly.
With Sonic defeated, Eggman and his army have taken over the world in six months, but there is still some hope, a group known as the resistance led by Knuckles, and he has recruited Vector, Charmy, Espio, Amy, and Silver, we then learn Tails did not join the Resistance, and Silver comments that he has lost it after what had happened to Sonic.
Then we get to create the Avatar, you can choose which species you want the Avatar to be, and each one has special effects based on which you can pick up, and the Avatar, otherwise known as the Rookie, becomes the newest recruit to the Resistance.
Time to enter Spaceport in the Chemical Plant, and we play as the Rookie for this one, and we learn that Sonic is held captive. The Rookie fights using Wispon, the starting one is a Burst Wispon, you get more kinds for completing courses, as well as customization for the Rookie. The Chaotix are holding off the enemy, including the one that took down Sonic, and I do like those cinematics where the Rookie boards a speeding train, the wire attack can be good for swinging to higher places, and Wisp Capsules give them will power up the Wispon, allowing the Rookie to use Wisp powers.
After the Rookie manages to take a space shuttle, Tails is at the city, and before Chaos can attack, he is rescued by Classic Sonic, which could be because of that Eggman using a special power that affects other dimensions.
We start the first Classic Sonic course, these ones are 2D Platforming courses, likely referencing the Classic Sonic games, and this course is Ghost Town. Classic Sonic can Spin Dash, but he cannot do a Homing Attack, and we find in the city that Death Egg Robots are being mass produced. After making it to the end of the course, we get a flashback scene with the Rookie's encounter with the being that took down Sonic. Then we learn from Rouge about where Sonic is at, and that he had kept Sonic alive so that he can see Eggman's Empire being completed in the last six months.
