Squaribot (who is the robot version of the square-haired Peridot known as Squaridot) is a somewhat challenging fight. As far as I can tell, Squaridot's dungeon was actually a post-release update and you can really tell just from the difficulty of the encounters. The actual Squaribot fight is like a remix of the Demantoid fight. There's a grid that spawns things and you want to hit some of those things and not others. It even has kamikaze enemies again, though you'll actually WANT to hit them (with ranged attacks) for this fight.

Connie: I'm not surprised that Connie got hit hard with the nerf stick. Reading probably wouldn't have been good in this game anyway (it probably would have needed a full turn to take effect) but turning it into Connie's super move is a worse nerf than I was expecting.

Now I'll admit that I didn't use Connie that much this time, but she seemed way less impressive overall. Her best skill is being able to move around enemies with her portal move. It's pretty great for setting up other attackers like Bismuth or lane attackers like herself or Lapis, though I do think it's a bit expensive at 2 SP. Her other skills seem kind of neat with the right upgrades but I just didn't feel like going for them when there are much simpler and more efficient characters like Pearl. I also found it bizarre that Connie's jumping attack can't actually be used to hit air enemies.

She might be decent but I got lazy and just used Pearl and Bismuth to stomp everything. The only thing I'm confident in saying is that Connie isn't as good as in Save the Light. StL Connie is ridiculous; she's easy to use almost immediately (you have Greg use his damaging jams, then use Protect on him with Connie) and just becomes broken once Reading is unlocked. UtL Connie is much fairer.
