Stardew Valley 171 :: Putrid Ghosts Everywhere
We tackle the middle floors of the increased difficulty mines at night today, for Danger In The Deep! The putrid ghosts won't leave us alone though, harassing us on every floor until we finally get the Nauseated debuff! We also enchant the rest of our tools at the volcano forge, and complete Clint's Cave Patrol special order!
Our steel trash can is done! Leah tells us to treat the children equally, and we notice we are almost at 10 hearts with both of them. It brings us no additional benefit to have full hearts with our children, but we are sure Grandpa would be proud of us!
It is Thursday and all our ancient fruit are ripe! We head over to the greenhouse to harvest them. We also stop by the shed of crystalariums to collect our jade stones. Then, we head over to the bottom-right corner of our farm to visit our animals.
After we are done with the usual farm chores, we wait by the seed makers as they process our Qi Fruit into Qi Beans! We plant the Qi Beans before going to the bus stop where we forage items and speak to Pam, the dedicated bus driver. We take the minecarts into town with some gold bars, which we pay to Clint for him to continue upgrading our rubbish bin!
Next, we bring along some cinder shards and prismatic shards to Ginger Island! We look around the island farm for items we can harvest before taking the parrot express to the volcano. Today, we venture into the volcano, but not to go across the lava bridge into the mines as we want to enchant our tools!
Strangely, it is not raining at the volcano caldera! Possibly, it is even higher in altitude than the rain clouds at Ginger Island. We enchant our tools until we get Reaching on our hoe and on our watering can, as well as Swift on our axe! We reroll the Efficient enchantment because at this point in the game, we never run low on energy so the enchantment is quite useless!
We check our journal for the scraps that tell us more about each enchantment! Reaching gives our tools the ability to cover a 5 x 5 area which is very handy as it matches the size that is covered by our iridium sprinklers, while Swift makes our axe swing much faster.
We return to the farmhouse at Stardew Valley, where we store away our additional tools and add more roe to the preserves jars. We bring along our axe to try out the new enchantment on the trees that appear at the middle levels of the mines!
At the mines, we continue going deeper for Qi's Danger In The Deep quest! We also kill any grubs that we see to fulfil Clint's Cave Patrol special order. On floor 48, we complete the special order and collect a generous reward of 6000 gold!
On floor 49, a haunted skull drops an enricher, which is a piece of equipment we have never owned before! We have seen it at Mister Qi's walnut room though, where he sells it for Qi Gems. On floor 51, we discover that our inventory is full and we head back to the surface momentarily to clear it.
Past floor 50, we see putrid ghosts on almost every floor we pass through! We try our best to avoid them since they are hard to hit, and since they could potentially give us the Nauseated debuff which makes us unable to eat. Once we hear the distinctive sound of the ghosts or see the neon-green splotches speeding toward us, we try to get out as soon as possible!
We get another rare item on floor 55! When a dust sprite blows up due to the burglar ring, it reveals a strange doll in the soil underneath. These dolls are so rare that we have not encountered any since we completed the museum till now! The dolls are quite valuable as well, and serve as nice decorative items!
We manage to make it down to floor 65 after a close call on the floor above! We were quite low on health and a putrid ghost gave us the Nauseated debuff so we could not heal our health with the salads. Fortunately, we succeed in placing down a staircase and escaping from the monsters!
