Stardew Valley 167 :: Spamming Staircases
The kegs of wine are done processing, which means it is time to make coffee! We notice it is a good luck day as well, so we make plans to go to the Skull Cavern! However, after finishing all the farm work, it is already evening. We still make it below floor 100 by repeatedly placing down staircases!
After collecting items from the crab pots, we get a little confused and try to add bait to the furnaces! It's not a big issue however, we simply place the bait in the crab pots as we walk over to the other column of furnaces on the other side!
Using the mini-obelisk, we teleport instantly to the other side of the farm where our sheds are located! We collect our wine from the kegs and fill them with coffee beans. Having to make coffee every week is a real chore, but it sure is cheaper than buying the stuff from Gus!
We head into the neighbouring shed to collect jades! Even though the shed is not yet full of crystalariums, we are still getting jade at a greater rate than our rate of using up staircases! That is also one reason why we decide to go to Skull Cavern later today despite having little time left.
Digging up an artefact spot on the farm near the greenhouse gives us some Qi Beans! We enter the greenhouse to harvest some fruits before going back to the shed for our coffee. After we fill the kegs with more coffee beans, it is already noon!
We summon our horse and head to the chest area to store away our items. We pick up some starfruit to turn into wine with our kegs when our coffee is done! Looks like our solar panels are ready! We stop by the bus to collect the battery packs before going to visit our animals at the animal pen.
The peach sapling that we had planted back in fall has fully grown, so we put back the path tile and the torch that we had moved away temporarily. Fruit trees require some empty space around them to grow, but once they are fully grown they no longer need the space for some reason!
After interacting with all our animals and collecting their products from the Auto-Grabbers, we plant the Qi Beans that we found from digging an artefact spot earlier! We teleport to Ginger Island to check on the island farm and to interact with the villagers at the beach.
Do bee houses on the island farm stop producing honey in the winter? That wouldn't make sense since the climate of the island is sunny all year round! I also recall that a previous patch had fixed this bug. Maybe we are just too impatient for our honey!
Back at Stardew Valley, we enter the big shed of kegs for the third time today to start the production of starfruit wine! When we are done, it is already evening. We plant down a single Qi Bean that we found in a palm tree on Ginger Island, then pick up our mining gear and teleport to the Calico Desert!
Once we are in the Skull Cavern, we immediately place down staircases to skip the lower floors! We only find a treasure room past level 80 however, which seems quite unfortunate! By then, it is already 9.40 pm at night. We continue heading deeper into the mines as we have not seen any big clusters of iridium rocks!
At 10.40 pm, we reach floor 100 of the Skull Cavern! We have used up almost 100 staircases too, but we have so many that it doesn't matter. Anyway, there is still plenty of time for mining! We continue to head even deeper, looking for iridium and treasure chests.
We find more treasure chests on floor 112 and 123. Alas, we still don't find the Auto-Petter that we want! It is one of the only farm machines that we are lacking. If only JojaMart was still open so we could just buy it for gold! The Auto-Petter is a little inhumane, but it will save us a lot of work on the farm.
Even though we had gone to the Skull Cavern so late in the day, we still manage to make it all the way to floor 141 of the mines before passing out! We also collected exactly as many iridium ores as the number of floors we went down, namely 140 ores! The 5 prismatic shards we found is a nice bonus as well!
