75The TurboGrafx 16 is one of the best consoles of all time, and it seems like no one owned one back in the day. Due to this, the system and its games are worth a ton. However, it is possible to start a TurboGrafx 16 collection without breaking the bank. The guys over at HD Retrovision posted a question on X (@HDRetrovision) where they wanted to know:

Well, the PC Engine is the Japanese version of the TurboGrafx 16, and you can mod a TurboGrafx 16 to play international Japanese PC Engine Games. So here are my picks for how you can Start A TurboGrafx 16 & PC Engine Collection with These 5 Great Games.
Number 5:
Splatterhouse
Splatterhouse is a great hack-and-slash sidescrolling beat'em up. It has vibes of Jason Vorhees with the hockey mask of the main character, and the main character is just a badass. This is definitely a game I highly recommend
Number 4:
Pac-Land
This is a guilty pleasure of mine due to loving the 80's cartoon, and that's Pac-Land. I loved the inclusion of the main theme from the Hanna-Barbera throughout the game. I also love the way the game plays, and when I got a TurboGrafx 16 this was a must-own for me.
Number 3:
Bonk's Adventure (any)
Any and all of the Bonk's games are absolutely fantastic, and these are must-own games. I even have Bonk's on the Famicom and Game Boy, it's that good!! They play great, they have tight controls, great music, and overall these are just fantastic games.
Number 2:
Fantasy Zone
Talking about games with great music, Fantasy Zone has one of the best soundtracks, but it's also just a great shooter! This was also on other systems, this is perhaps the first ever cute'em up. This is such a fantastic game I cannot recommend it highly enough, except for one other game.
Number 1:
New Adventure Island
New Adventure Island is an amazing port and reimagining of the original game, and it looks better, sounds better, and is a more polished version of the NES Game. It was Super Adventure Island BEFORE the SNES. It doesn't get much better for me than New Adventure Island.
