The game's equivalent to Final Fantasy's Ribbon - Safety Badge - is concealed in a chest guarded by a recurring enemy type that resembles a treasure chest. Not entirely sure if I'll happen to break my Lucky Jewel prematurely before getting the Lucky Hammer, I rush to get it ASAP for whatever early advantage it may grant me in this challenge.
The reason I recorded the fight in the first place is the fact that the boss hits us way harder than most, if not all, boss enemies we have fought in this low level run. It calls for a hyper offensive strategy featuring Geno, whose Geno Beam is the second-highest source of damage available to the party and who enables the usage of a more potent triple move at the start of the battle than Peach, whose healing prowess would obviously benefit us greatly.
I'm not sure how to explain the damage the triple move inflicts, which is lower than expected and indeed witnessed on past attempts; do triple moves rely on chain level to determine their damage? Everyone seems to have Work Pants on, so I can't find an alternative explanation.
After the triple move, Mario uses the super-effective Jump on the boss, actually outdamaging everybody else in the party, Bowser attacks normally and Geno Geno Beams. The latter is actually most susceptible to damage when Mario takes Booster's Charm to himself and indeed ends up falling to the boss's unblockable Static Electricity. Peach is switched in, as we're about to kill the boss at this stage. When he is down, the lackeys are easily dealt with, which makes this a perfect time to use the Lucky Jewel (using it early on would just make our lives harder).
The key to being successful here is to block the attacks with proper timing, and that's tough to accomplish for some of the moves seen here - for me anyway.
Curious to see how this accessory will help with the future bosses, and it's great that I've secured it without using any items that cost too many frog coins.
