Super Metroid Subversion (v1.1) part 5: Breaking the ice
0Well, I expected this segment to be productive, but perhaps not THIS productive.
As it turns out, I was closer to finishing 100% of Super Metroid Subversion's missions than I thought. At the same time, however, I'm still clearly much further from 100% of its map or items than I could possibly imagine. I may have "finished" the game, but I'm not done playing this... although it remains to be seen exactly how successful any subsequent investigations turn out.
I don't usually like to commit to naming a "best" or "favorite" of anything, but out of the handful of Super Metroid romhacks I've played so far, this is easily leaps and bounds above the rest. The way its routing options practically reinvent the experience reminds me of Super Zero Mission, but it's got an extra decade of inspiration and tech to benefit from and push the envelope even further.
