Gameplay from the Japanese Saturn release of the little known Super Rockman Adventure a interactive movie game crossed with an arcade shooter and plenty of quick time events thrown in for good luck. One of many Mega Man titles Capcom published that never got released outside of Japan. English viewers might want to skip to the (10:30) where the main gameplay starts.
Very different to previous games in the series and no doubt many fans won't like it, even Keiji Inafune is on record as saying “it is the worst of the worst” in the official complete works book for Mega Man. Farmed out to an unknown third party developer who were the cheapest bidder according to Inafune.
Designed as a kids game, but breaks a key rule that shows characters dying, Roll is seen dying in the bad ending along with the world blowing up. Something Inafune was against, but he only joined the project late and wasn't able to make any changes.
That said it not a bad game, in fact for a few hours it's quite good fun to see a couple of hours of Mega Man animation. Yes it breaks, just about all the series rules, but it fun for the few hours it lasts. This isn't War and Peace in length and is even easier to finish than Mega Man game normally are. The game also has the dubious honour of being recalled as the first print run was fault and crashed during play.
Also known as: Super Mega Man Adventure (English version of title) スーパーアドベンチャーロックマン (Japanese)
