Unreal Tournament (1999) - PC - Intro & gameplay from various modes including CTF Facing Worlds [4K]
44Long before Epic Games made the bland single map, fort building, free to play shooter known as Fortnite, they used to make good FPS games. Unreal Tournament is and remains the best in the entire Unreal series, not to mention one of the best multiplayer titles every made. It's a masterpiece Epic themselves couldn't better, with later titles, just lacking the same magic.
Fast paced and furious with small arenas to keep the frags coming, matches were over almost as soon as they began. Matches types included, Team Deathmatch, Last Man Standing, Domination, Capture the Flag, Deathmatch and Assault. The latter four are all shown in this video.
On release Unreal Tournament made Quake III look slow and dated. With modes like the objective based Assault missions adding far more depth and better team gameplay modes. All of this goes on while the game plays one of the best soundtracks ever scored for FPS. While Unreal Tournament was ported to various consoles these were all heavily cut down versions that didn't cut the mustard against the PC version.
