Full longplay / playthrough / walkthrough / trueplay of Gundam Battle Assault 2 as Amuro Ray in the RX-78-2 if we aren't mistaken, which is just labelled the RX-78. A surprisingly solid 2D fighter with 3D background and a wealth of bonus modes and extras to unlock. Featuring Gundam units from various instalments in the series, coming in all shapes and size most fans will likely have a few of their favourite Gundam units included. While your first battle against the huge Big-Zam might be a bit daunting, you can quickly learn how to over come it. Amuro Ray's story follows the original “One year war Gundam”.
For a Gundam titles this also has the honour of being western exclusive and not released in Japan. The gameplay and engine comes from Gundam The Battle Master in effect making this Battle Master 3. However, the cast of The Battle Master series are all missing and instead replaced with the main characters from the various Gundam series.
All in all in is fun title for some not so serious versus fights. As fights can be so mismatched, it appears the designers never heard of the word “balancing”. Still the over the top super moves are great fun to see in action. Running at only 30fps does hurt handling somewhat and the game buffers inputs for too long, often resulting in the wrong special move coming out. Captured from the PAL PS1 version of the game at 50Hz.
