Super Smash Bros. for Wii U - Classic Mode with Captain Falcon
It is time to play Classic Mode with Captain Falcon, the second fastest character in the game, and is all about close range fighting, as he has no projectile moves of his own. Captain Falcon is on the starting roster of this game, but this is not the first Smash Bros. game where he is available from the start, as he was on the starting roster in Melee as well.
Then to go over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight characters in their default costumes, in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters in their alternate costumes, in Round 6, you fight against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight Master Hand, or on Intensity 3.0 or higher, you fight Crazy Hand as well, and on an even higher Intensity, you fight against Master Core.
Captain Falcon's special moves might be very well known, but going over his custom moves, first up is his well known Falcon Punch, the first custom variant is Falcon Dash Punch, which deals less damage, and Captain Falcon dashes forward before unleashing his Falcon Punch, the other variant is Mighty Falcon Punch, which is bigger and more powerful, but has a longer startup. Next is Raptor Boost, Captain Falcon's side special, the first one is Heavy Raptor Boost, which is slower and has less distance, and it hits harder and has super armour, and the second variant of that move is Wind-Up Raptor Boost, Captain Falcon steps back before dashing forward, and it charges up faster, but deals less damage. Captain Falcon's up special is Falcon Dive, the first variant is Falcon Strike, Captain Falcon jumps higher, but he does not grab opponents, the other variant is Explosive Falcon Dive, which does not go as high as Falcon Dive, but it is more explosive and has more launching power. Next is Falcon Kick, the first variant for that move is Falcon Kick Flurry, which hits multiple times and can launch opponents at the end, but it deals less damage and travels slower, and the other variant is Lightning Falcon Kick, which is quicker and has an electric effect and it goes through opponents, it is weaker than Falcon Kick and it paralyzes opponents.
When Captain Falcon hits his opponent with his Final Smash, you do get the sound effect during the cutscene that comes from F-Zero on the SNES which plays at the start of the race. I did like how Captain Falcon was revealed around the same time as Robin, because prior to that trailer, Captain Falcon wasn't even revealed before then, and even if it did include Lucina as well, Lucina is an unlockable character in this game, and we did have times where unlockable characters were revealed before the release of this game, much like with Snake and Sonic in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
