Next character is R.O.B., and the placement for that character is different depending on the version, in the 3DS version, Duck Hunt Duo would be placed between Greninja and R.O.B. on the roster, while in the Wii U version, R.O.B. is placed after Greninja and before Ness. The default R.O.B. is different depending on the location, in Japan, R.O.B.'s default costume is the Famicom colour scheme, this was R.O.B.'s default costume in Brawl, while outside of Japan, R.O.B. uses the NES colour scheme, R.O.B. is the only character to have a different colour scheme for his default costume depending on the localization.
In both versions of Super Smash Bros. 4, R.O.B. is an unlockable character, in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, R.O.B. is unlocked after collecting 200 different Trophies or playing 70 Vs. Matches, and in the Wii U version, R.O.B. is unlocked after completing 10 rounds of Crazy Orders or playing 60 Vs. Matches. R.O.B. does not have a home stage, and still to this day he doesn't, despite having been a playable character since Brawl, in the 3DS version, you would fight R.O.B. on PictoChat 2, and in the Wii U version, you fight R.O.B. on Wrecking Crew when unlocking him.
Then going over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight characters in their default costumes, in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters in their alternate costumes, and in Round 6, you fight the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight against Master Hand, or on Intensity 3.0 or higher, you have to fight Crazy Hand as well, and on an even higher Intensity, you fight against Master Core.
Next is R.O.B.'s custom moves, as this is the only game in the series to have custom moves, R.O.B.'s neutral special of Robo Beam was improved on in this game, where the beam is larger when fully charged, the first custom variant is Wide-Angle Beam, which can be fired in a wider arc, but it has a longer start-up and deals less damage, the other variant is Infinite Robo Beam, which can be fired consecutively, but it takes longer to charge to Super Robo Beam, and the move deals less damage. R.O.B.'s side special is Arm Rotor, the first variant is Reflector Arm, which I am not sure why when Arm Rotor can reflect projectiles, but anyway, Reflector Arm lasts longer and reflects projectiles easier with more powerful than usual, and the attack knocks opponents away, and the other variant is Backward Arm Rotor, which hits less and has a shorter spin, and it deals more damage and can stop projectiles. R.O.B.'s up special is Robo Burner, the first custom move for that is Robo Rocket, which launches R.O.B. into the air, but can't hover, the move does deal damage, the other variant is High-Speed Burner, R.O.B. can fly around faster, but it uses up more fuel than usual. Next is Gyro, R.O.B.'s down special, only one can be on the stage at a time, and for its custom variants, the first one is Fire Gyro, which deals more damage and has a fire effect, but it doesn't fly as far, and the other variant is Slip Gyro, which slides across the ground and trips up opponents who make contact with it.
R.O.B. is another character that has a different Final Smash for each game, in this game, R.O.B. has Super Diffusion Beam, R.O.B. transforms into a laser cannon and fires a beam that traps opponents in place, and then finishes with a burst that launches opponents, even if it is good for trapping opponents in place, I do prefer Guided Robo Beam, R.O.B.'s Final Smash in Ultimate which is better to use, and the laser can be angled, much like Samus's Zero Laser.
