This part of the story is dependant on the house selected, and as I went with Blue Lions, and in this one, Dimitri learns that his uncle Rufus has taken control of Fhirdiad, and he is accompanied by Rodrigue of House Fraldaruis, Gilbert of the Knights of Series, and the Blue Lions in stopping Rufus's troops.

In this game, whichever house you picked, Chapter 3 will be different depending on the house picked, and I don't want to spoil what happens in the Black Eagles or Golden Deer path. In this one, we learn about the shocking truth behind Tomas, and then Arval tells Shez about the connection between Kronya and her forces. Then after a bit of dialogue, we then go to the campsite where Shez first meets the Officer's Academy students, talk to your classmates, and then talk to Dimitri to start the mission, and then we get a scene where Rufus receives a letter from Dimitri. One thing I want to go over, there are some characters that were mentioned in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, but they never appear in any way, Rufus is one of those characters, and our objective is to stop him.
I didn't even know that the dark blue circles is the characters that you play as, so my character set up isn't really that good, but I did want to try out some of the units, if you are doing this, I recommend Dedue, as he has the advantage against Rufus, who uses an Iron Lance, and as you do fight a lot of sword users, while Dimitri is the best option against them, you can try Ingrid or Sylvain, as they are lance users as well, and do note that you can't use Annette for that map. Shez can take on the axe users.
After defeating some of the troops, Viscount Kleiman, a character that was mentioned in Three Houes, yet looks like a generic Cavalier, and your next task is to defeat him and some of the troops.
Then capture the strongholds and disable the controls, and that will lower the drawbridges, and it is time to take on Cornelia and Rufus. Cornelia is on the eastern side, she has good Resistance, I would recommend having Shez take her on, while for Rufus, if you picked Dedue, you can have him take on Rufus.
Then after a cutscene where Dimitri kills Rufus, we then meet up with Margrave Gautier, despite being a very important person in the Kingdom, he never appears in Three Houses, and this is the first time we see him, he is Sylvain's father, then after that, we then get a scene telling us about each of the house leaders and what they are doing, and it is the end of the prologue.
