The next character is Villager, the first newcomer to this game, and the first Animal Crossing character to be playable in a Smash Bros. game. Villager is one of few characters to have both male and female variants, much like Robin, Wii Fit Trainer, and Corrin, and he does have a bunch of projectiles for his moves, like the slingshot, the Lloid Rocket, and many others, and his bowling ball has very high knockback and is one of the most powerful forward smash attacks in the game.
Then going over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight characters in their default costumes, in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters in their alternate costumes, in Round 6, you fight against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight Master Hand, and on Intensity 3.0 or higher, you fight Crazy Hand as well, and on an even higher difficulty, you fight Master Core.
Villager has a bunch of unique special moves, and going over his custom moves as this is the only game in the series to have custom moves, Villager's neutral special is Pocket, allowing him to pick up items or projectiles for later use. The first custom move for Villager's neutral special is Garden, if this makes contact with any opponent, it leaves them with a flower on their head, and the other variant is Pocket Plus, which allows Villager to catch projectiles and items easier, but the projectiles grabbed don't deal as much damage. Villager's side special is Lloid Rocket, the first variant of that move is Liftoff Lloid, when using that move, Lloid travels upward at a high speed, making it better for recovering back to the stage, and the other variant is Pushy Lloid, when used, Lloid is bigger and it hits opponents multiple times, but the move is slower and has less distance when moving. Villager's up special of Balloon Trip is kind of a reference to Balloon Fight, and in the 3DS version, to unlock the Balloon Fight stage, you have to play Vs. Matches as Villager three times, and it is one of Villager's best recovery moves. The first custom variant is Extreme Balloon Trip, which travels more slowly and it flies lower, the balloons explode when they burst, the second balloon gives Villager extra height after it bursts, the second variant is Balloon High Jump, this move cannot be used for flight, and it deals damage to opponents while Villager jumps up. The down special is Timber, Villager plants a seed, waters it, and then chops down the tree, and the tree has great knockback if it connects, the first custom variant is Timber Counter, the sprout trips up opponents, and the tree can counter attacks, and it deals less damage and knockback when chopped down. The other variant for Villager's down special is Super Timber, all phases of that move are slower, the water can has better range and the tree is bigger and deals more damage and knockback when chopped down.
Villager's Final Smash is Dream Home, and in the European version of this game, it is called Housewarming Party, and another bit of trivia, Villager can appear as a background character on the stage Smashville, even when Villager is in the battle, and in Brawl, the Trophy for Villager was called "Animal Crossing Boy". Even while Villager is referred to as the "Mayor of Smashville" on Boxing Ring, while this is true in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Villager uses his appearance from Animal Crossing: City Folk.
