I use Lucario for Classic Mode, and this is where I am more used to the changes to Ultimate to this game when it comes to how characters are used, while it did get improvements in this game compared to Brawl, in this game, all of Lucario's moves are affected by Aura, and its attacks become more powerful the more damage it receives, and for its Final Smash, it Mega Evolves into Mega Lucario, and its Aura becomes even more powerful than it would have when it is at 190% damage, even if Lucario is at 0% damage.
Then going over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight characters in their default costumes, in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters in their alternate costumes, in Round 6, you fight against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight Master Hand, or on Intensity 3.0 or higher, you fight Crazy Hand as well, and on a higher Intensity, you fight against Master Core.
Next is Lucario's custom moves, as this is the only game in the series to have custom moves, the first one is Aura Sphere, Lucario's neutral special, the first custom variant is Snaring Aura Sphere, which travels slowly, but it does draw in opponents and deals less damage, and the other variant is Piercing Aura Sphere, which charges and travels faster and it goes through opponents and projectiles, but it is weaker and has less knockback. Lucario's side special is Force Palm, the first custom variant is Advancing Force Palm, where Lucario dashes forward while using Force Palm, and it will be left wide open if the attack misses, and the other variant is Long-Distance Force Palm, which has more range, but deals less damage, and the grab has more knockback. Then Lucario's up special of Extreme Speed, the first custom variant is Ride the Wind, which has better control and distance, but it is slower and does not deal damage, much like how Extreme Speed worked in Brawl, the other variant is Extreme Speed Attack, which has less range and it is a multi-hit attack with less knockback. Then for Lucario's down special, Double Team, the first custom move is Glancing Counter, which deals less damage and knockback, and Lucario can deal damage to the opponent even when it is not hit by an attack, and the other variant is Stunning Double Team, which is a counterattack that deals electric damage and stuns opponents at the end of the move.
When Mega Evolved, Lucario has super armour and cannot flinch, but the duration shortens if Lucario takes damage, and it can use custom special moves while Mega Evolved, and while this was its Final Smash in this game, in Ultimate, Lucario does get Aura Storm, its Final Smash from Brawl, the difference is Lucario Mega Evolves when using it, I do prefer Aura Storm when it comes to Lucario's Final Smash, and Mega Evolution does boost Lucario's Aura to very high levels, even when Lucario hasn't taken that much damage before it Mega Evolves.
