Next is the Pokémon series, which has a lot of representation, and starting things off is Pikachu, and in almost every Smash Bros. game, Pikachu has placed very high on the tier list, it was placed 1st in Super Smash Bros. 64. Pikachu is a lightweight character that can move really quick, and while it did get some improvements in this game, as well as in updates to this game.
Then to go over Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight characters that use their default costumes, in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters that use their alternate costumes, in Round 6, you fight against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the last round, you fight against Master Hand, or on Intensity 3.0 or higher, you fight Crazy Hand as well, or on a higher Intensity, you fight Master Core.
Then for custom moves, and this is the only game in the series to have custom moves, starting with Pikachu's neutral special, Thunder Jolt, which is not a move in the main series games, the name was likely taken from the first Pikachu card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, but its custom variants of its neutral special are moves in the main series games, the first one is Thunder Wave, which deals less damage and paralyzes opponents, and the other custom variant is Thunder Shock, which is shot horizontally and disappears after it hits the ground, it explodes instead of bouncing on the ground. Pikachu's side special is Skull Bash, the first custom variant is Shocking Skull Bash, which has an electric effect and hits multiple times, and the last hit has added launch power, and the other variant is Heavy Skull Bash, which travels a shorter distance, and it deals more damage at the start of the attack and it charges quicker. Next is Pikachu's up special, Quick Attack, the first custom variant is Meteor Quick Attack, which has lower recovery distance and travels slower, but it does add a meteor effect to the move, it is more effective at the start and when changing directions, and the other variant is Quick Feet, Pikachu only moves once, but it travels much farther, and Quick Feet is an Ability in the main series Pokémon games, Pikachu cannot have that Ability. Pikachu's down special is Thunder, which did gain a meteor effect in this game, the first custom variant for that move is Thunder Blast, which creates an electrical burst around Pikachu, lightning does not come down when used, and it has more knockback, the other variant is Distant Thunder, the thundercloud appears higher up, it does not have a meteor effect, the move deals more damage near the thundercloud.
Its Final Smash of Volt Tackle is easier to control than it is in Brawl, and I do like the change for that move in Ultimate, and this is one of few Final Smash moves to be an actual move in the main series Pokémon games, the other is Mewtwo's Psystrike.
