I play as Dark Samus for this Classic Mode video, the Echo Fighter of Samus Aran, and even though she is the first Echo Fighter displayed in roster order, she is the second to last character I record the Classic Mode videos for, this is because I randomize a list to decide my characters, and when I randomized the list, I had five characters remaining, Dark Samus is the second to last character on said list, the playlist will display fighters in order of how they are displayed on the roster, so I thought I would explain that in case you are watching it in order on the playlist, if the roster displayed characters in order of reveal, Dark Samus was revealed alongside Chrom, and out of the two, Dark Samus was revealed second, that means she would be placed between Richter and King K. Rool, and Chrom would be placed before Dark Samus. Dark Samus's Classic Mode route is The Great Poison Given Form, and her opponents are protagonists, and she teams up with a CPU Ally, usually a character from the same series as the character she fights, using their dark alternate costume, referencing times where that character was possessed and forced to fight the protagonist, the Great Poison being another name for Phazon, which Dark Samus is made from.
To unlock Dark Samus, there are many different ways, one of them is Vs. Matches, where Dark Samus is the 50th character to be unlocked, and she is the 5th character unlocked by completing Classic Mode with Samus or anyone in her unlock tree after Incineroar.
In Round 1, you fight against Link, and the stage is Hyrule Castle, Zelda is your CPU Ally for that fight, possibly referencing Twilight Princess. In Round 2, your opponents are Chrom and Lucina, and you have Robin as a CPU Ally, and the stage is Arena Ferox, I don't want to spoil what this is a reference to, but it is a massive spoiler to Fire Emblem Awakening. In Round 3, you fight against Ryu on Suzaku Castle, and you have Ken as a CPU Ally, this references Violent Ken, and M. Bison Stage plays, as Ken was brainwashed by M. Bison. In Round 4, you fight Squirtle, Charizard, and Pikachu, and you team up with Ivysaur as a CPU Ally, this could be a reference to Ivysaur being part Poison-type, and the stage is Saffron City. In Round 5, you fight against Mario, Peach, and Daisy, and you team up with Luigi as a CPU Ally where he uses Waluigi's colour scheme, this could be a reference to Mr. L in Super Paper Mario, the stage is Princess Peach's Castle. In Round 6, you fight Samus and Ridley, and the stage is Norfair, and this is a free-for-all fight.
Next is the Bonus Stage, and at the end, you fight against Master Hand, and if you are playing on Intensity 7.0 or higher, you will have to fight Crazy Hand as well.
After that, the credits will roll, and the music when you complete Classic Mode with Dark Samus is Multiplayer - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and you then unlock the Fighter Spirit for Dark Samus if you completed Classic Mode with her for the first time.
