#SuperOldGameSaturday - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64) - Part 2
Originally Recorded/Aired On February 5th, 2022
Continuing on with the big 2022 initiative of the #SuperOldGameSaturday show, Proterova and I are back to continue our 100% gold cartridge journey through The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64. For Part 2, we still worked to prove to the land of Hyrule that #LinkRealMan, but we got a nice boost to that with our latest adventures, going through the belly of a Shinto-themed water deity, did some gardening, killed even more Gold Skultullas, went grave-digging with Dampe and oh yeah, actually growing up and getting many of the perks of that (some of which are wonderfully out of order and unorthodox, as you'll see). Along the way, we had good discussions with the chat (including the debut of Gemiknight96; thank you for stopping by and welcome to the program) and especially between Proterova and myself as we dove deeper into this game, including all of its lore, deeper meanings and possible interpretations (many by Proterova himself, particularly in the last hour here, and others noticed by Good Blood's Ocarina of Time: A Master Class of Subtext (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyUcwsjyd8Q), how even Shigeru Miyamoto had qualms about the tutorializing of this one via Navi (https://shmuplations.com/ocarinaoftime/), some weird goings on that we'd never seen with the game (especially with Princess Ruto), and discussions about Louisa May Alcott's Little Women (yes, there IS a good reason for that), classic rock music, the fandom of the late Robin Williams of this series and the great Ocarina of Time Vs. Majora's Mask debate. This was another great show and I thank Proterova once again for adding his insights and passion for this game to make for another great part, though please excuse how dark the video looks in places and the game audio being louder, which I'll not repeat for part 3 (for the former, I didn't adjust the brightness, which I'll need to do for every N64 game and for the latter, I tried not having our voices lower the game volume from my capture device settings, with mixed results), but still, hope you enjoy our sophomore part of Ocarina of Time (and if you like what you see here, stop by https://www.twitch.tv/captainditrag each Saturday at 7 PM EST to see these streams live and join/help drive the conversations on what we play each week)!
