#SuperOldGameSaturday - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64) - Part 3
Originally Recorded/Aired On March 5th, 2022
We've reached Part 3 of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time here on #SuperOldGameSaturday and, once again, Proterova joins the show to provide his input and deep thoughts on this Nintendo 64 staple for us (and with better sound and visual quality than Part 2). That being said, the show started late due to technical issues with my capture device and we're lucky we got this uploaded due to a mistake I made while fixing those technical issues, but nothing's keeping us from completing this game to 100% and, for this part, we tackled the Fire and Water Temples, the Ice Cavern and had adventures in between with the Big Poe hunt, the death of more Gold Skultullas, the addition of Tektites to our insect extermination regiment, a couple of glitches and a return to the old fishing hole. We also got to show off more of the exclusive aspects of the 1.0 gold cartridge version we're playing here, including the Muslim chant in the Fire Temple (which led to a great discussion about the place of faith in this franchise and deep psychological aspects of Dark Link; thank you for that, Proterova), while also exploring the idea of gaming as an art form against games that can function as a quick burst (and thank you, ElecVerse, for inspiring that discussion, and illuminating us regarding Shadow Warrior 3), technical aspects of this game and asking the question of whether Navi says "Watch out!" or "What's up?" when you do a Z-target onto an enemy (which certainly led to a great edit to underline that and feel free to tell us here which one you think it is). So yes, we continued our exploration and celebration of this game with great and unique discussions that make this show such a unique and special weekly gaming hangout and I once again thank all of you for tuning in, either on Twitch or on the YouTube site here. Also, after this part, I can confirm that we'll be finishing this one in May, after which, TheCrochetNerd will start joining me in June for its sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Until then, and until the next part of Ocarina of Time next month, hope you enjoy Part 3 of this one (and if you like what you see here, stop by https://www.twitch.tv/captainditrag each Saturday at 7 PM EST to see these streams live and join/help drive the conversations on what we play each week)!
