We started Tomba! for the PlayStation here at #SuperOldGameSaturday back in November, but I wasn't confident that I could deliver Part 2 of this 2.5D Metroidvania platformer/RPG mix back in December for OneTrueL, the member of the best chat on Twitch who graciously requested this game of the show. So, I made the difficult decision to push this show back to January of 2025 and I think it was the right call, because I was more than ready to continue the adventures of the titular cave boy with pink hair to find his grandfather's bracelet and we got A LOT done on this second part. From taking down 3 of the evil pigs, completing tons of events, including some missable ones (because remember, we're going 100% on this game and I marked them off as we went this part), doing racing in booze-powered cars, showing off the beauty of the Funky Parasol and even encountering a few glitches in the game, myself and the best chat on Twitch covered a lot of ground this time. Honestly, it's not dissimilar to Part 1, in that I practiced so much that I ended up blindly completing more than I even planned to originally, but that's a great reflection of this game as a whole; every time you think you've seen and understood everything Tomba has to offer, you soon see that it keeps surprising and delighting you as you uncover more areas and events. As such, I can see why OneTrueL mentioned loving this game and requested that we play it here, which I'm so glad to have done so far and I can't thank OneTrueL and the chat enough for adding so much to our full look at this underrated game. We're going to be finishing the game next part and I'm not going to make you wait long for the Finale, which will be on February 8th at 7 PM EST, I promise.
