It's time for another Friday installment of SuperOldGameSaturday (and the first of 3 over the next few weeks) and for this one, we're coming back to Shenmue for the Dreamcast. After we met Ryo Hazuki last time and saw his father Iwao killed in front of his eyes by Lan Di, we're heading to find sailors at MJQ Jazz Bar and Heartbeats Bar, playing pool, looking for a guy named Charlie, heading off to the harbor for the start of Disc 2 and showing off two vital events involving Nozomi, the girl in town who's always caring about Ryo. Like with every part of this game, we're soaking everything in we can and though DollyFinn was not in studio for this part, she WAS in the best chat on Twitch as we continued our quest, but also as we went more into the depth of this story, the concept of slower pacing in games, getting a couple of new and rare capsule toys, having pretty productive revisits to the available games in the arcade (including a new form of darts) and learning more about the cast of characters, including the smaller players in the story with bigger lore and backstory than you may expect. There's certainly more to this game that meets the eye and I've so far been having a great time sharing it with you and thank you for joining us for this play.
