You know, for a crazed experiment that killed its creator, this thing is surprisingly passive.
It has too much Iron Stance for a single Calamity Stance to break but since Otulp doesn't act immediately, I can soften it up a bit with Exalted Divide.
Although this monster is a Odin recolor and shares its same attributes (low weight, fast recovery from knockdowns...), there's a key difference between the two: none of Otulp's grounded counters are useable in the air. The aerial Sonic Thrust weakness reset, which would be a 50/50 against Odin due to Thunder Fang, is guaranteed to work here.
And for today's trivia fact: did you know that Otulp is made from the body of this Fractured Dimension Gaius? Probably not, because the game says nothing about Otulp and this fact is hidden in the World Guidance book!
"The catalyst is Guinea Pigs, a powerful artificial monster created by King Melard. It is thought that this dimension’s Gaius, who was working under King Melard, was used to create it. Otulp went out of control and has already killed King Melard. [Gaius Episode 2].".
That would explain why Gaius looks so down out of nowhere during the victory screen rather than the game glossing it over by asking him if he's still thinking about the Chimeriad. And it also gives context on what his "meeting" with Melard was about.
