Ah yes, splendid, let's fight a boss that has even more HP than Wingul! Blaze Claw is basically unrivaled in the HP department until Victor (although he's more of an outlier tbh) or Melancholic Decay but lucky me, the only thing this bear has going for itself is being an HP sponge.
Guarding always forces Assault Claw, so I can run towards Blaze Claw to get behind it with a few sidesteps while the bear is busy slashing at nothing. Blade of Heaven on its own can break its Iron Stance but I use Calamity Stance before that for some extra chip damage. And just like in Xillia 1, Blaze Claw is programmed to retreat no matter what after using Assault Claw, I don't have to worry about being interrupted.
The hurtbox of Blaze Claw can be somewhat janky due to how much the bear moves every time it's hit. My positioning is very important to minimize being pushed away by the collision of its arms and I always try to be in front of it or to the right so the combo is as consistent as possible. The movement from Hydra and Squall, alongside an extended Swallow Fury help me mantain a correct position.
The most notorious example of collision messing things up is for the Exalted Divide → Demon Fang + Dragon Swarm weakness reset because, if I were attacking from the left, Demon Fang would hit its arm instead of the body and Blaze Claw wouldn't be staggered anymore by the time I use Dragon Swarm.
Another interesting thing to note is that I do a fronstep after landing from the aerial Tiger Blade to return to idle faster and recover my AC before proceeding to the final part of the combo.
And in case you're wondering, this is the longest fight in the entire run. Both in terms of length and hit count.
