Our mustached friend from the first game is out for another ride on his motorcycle in the desert heat. Naturally he’s attacked by a horde of zombies once again. This time a voluptuous cop by the name of Jacqueline appears to help him. The two find out that the local town is being invaded by zombies. The two lace their boots and try to fight back against the hordes of the Undead.

Aesthetics:

Tequila Zombies 2 utilizes the same art style that the first game uses. It’s a typical cartoonish graphics with an art style that gives it that distinct look giving it a colorful yet dark tone which suits the mood. The animation is also smooth when it comes to the character movements as well as the movements for the enemy line-up. The music itself is the typical western action theme. It makes shooting and destroying zombies a lot more fun with all that adrenaline audio pumping up.

Gameplay:

Tequila Zombies 2 utilizes the same gameplay mechanic from the first game but has some improvement to it. It’s a 2D action based game where the players control their character to fight the enemies. Players can now choose from two different characters being Miguel our mustached protagonist and the newly introduced Jacqueline. Their initial weapons vary so that’s basically what separates them. There are only 3 areas in the game but each area stretches up to 10 waves. The tenth wave is a boss which is a bit hard so make sure to survive. Players need to attack the enemies that are attacking them from both the left and right. They can choose attack one side or just stay and the middle and attack both sides. Players will also get a health box, weapon, hot sauce as well as tequila drop. The health box heals the player and the weapon swaps the currently equipped one. The hot sauce will allow the character to deal twice the damage and the tequila will allow the players to unleash their character’s special move that deals a lot of damage. Players also gain money in each level as it can drop and killing enemies also give you money. The money can be used to buy a variety of weapons. There are also a ton of different weapons that the players can buy. These would range from handguns, rifles, machineguns, explosives and other melee weapons. It’s also important to note that while there are only 10 waves per level, these waves are non-stop so you wouldn’t be able to rest and heal your characters unless you pick up health boxes. The thing about this is that you wouldn’t be able to finish the levels in one go. That is why you need to earn a lot of money and buy those items. The stronger items you get means the farther you go in the levels by overcoming wave after wave. It’s a challenging game but does the work for those that like it.
