Headless Joe - Game Walkthrough (all levels)
25The clumsy robot named Joe has lost his head, literally. Help him find his missing head in this simple but challenging puzzle and physics game called Headless Joe! Move Headless Joe's robotic body on the platforms and guide him to the exit. Only then you will be able to complete the level. Use the elevators to lift the robot's body and reach the higher platforms. There are also other devices you must activate in order to reach the exit. The robot's body is very fragile and will break instantly if you let him fall from high places. There’s also a screw in each level. Be sure to collect them to earn extra points.
Overview:
Joe is a very happy go lucky robot but apparently his head wasn’t screwed in too tight. That’s why you have to help Joe find his head. Before that though you need to find the screw to put his head back on but make sure that to screw his head tight this time. It does seem a bit strange that he would lose his had so many times but hey you need to have a game anyway.
Aesthetics:
The game uses cartoon animations that are hand drawn. They are 2D in nature but that’s always a good thing. The game looks bright and colorful as well as the animations for the background and foreground. Joe looks fine as well along with his goofy head. It can be a bit of a distraction seeing his head float around as it acts like a mouse cursor. The music of the game has a slight techno feel to it but the main tune is that it has a whimsical feel to it to say the least. In total the overall aesthetics of the game look and feel good.
Gameplay:
Headless Joe is a puzzle game that uses 2D visuals. Players primarily control Joe but without the use of the keyboard buttons. The way to make Joe move or do a number of things is with the use of a mouse. Just point the mouse to where you would want Joe to move. The controls may seem a bit slow, so just keep in mind and see if Joe is moving to how you would want him to move. While making Joe move, make sure to avoid pits or obstacles that will kill him. In fact if he jumps and lands too high it will also kill him so you wouldn’t want that. In each level you first need to find the screw. The screw can be easily seen and taken or it’s tucked away where you have to solve a series of puzzles. In terms of the puzzles they can be as random as ever which requires some mind boggling solving. There are also things that you can press with the use of the mouse. These usually involve buttons that you need to press or levers that need to be pushed, pulled or rotated. You have to be mindful of what you do as there are some actions that can’t be repeated. Then again you can always restart the level should it fail or when you think that you’ve failed. Once you get the screw, head to the exit and the level is completed. Completing the levels award you with starts to rate how well you did. The highest number of stars you get is three and the lowest is 1. You can always restart to get a higher rating should you want to but this is optional as it doesn’t matter how many stars you get. There is also a timer so the faster you complete the level means more stars.
