The Dragooner Game
6Become the lord of the dragons and wyverns in the skies. Command your dragons to victory in this fast-paced action game called Dragooner! Thieves and bandits have planned to take all the dragon eggs from dragon isle. Your task is to defend the dragon isle from these attackers by throwing your boomerang at them or spitting fireballs with your drake. You can also summon drakes and wyverns that will help you defend the isle. If your drake is tired, you must land on the stamina pedestal and recover its stamina gauge. Upgrade the drakes, wyverns and dragons so they can be summoned faster. The game also features armors and weapons you can equip to make you stronger!
Overview:
In a mythical land far away, there is an island floating in the sky. The island houses a plethora of dragons and a man they call the Dragooner. One day one of the dragon eggs fell from the sky. A group of bandits saw the egg and took it. They then decide to invade the floating island for the dragon eggs as it is sold for a very high price. The dragons catch wind of the invasion and work together to protect their home. Our Dragooner must lead the dragons in fighting against the invading humans.
Aesthetics:
The Dragooner’s aesthetics in terms of the visual aspect is simply good. It uses hand drawn animation using cartoonish visuals. The art is good in a simplistic way but you get to see the highlights to the characters and settings. You are also given a nice little opening scene in a comic book style of presentation. It may be a bit confusing when you read it but it does make sense. The music is a typical adventure and fantasy one. It has that tune that sets you for battle but it does repeat all over the game but it’s not so bad.
Gameplay:
The Dragooner is a base defense game. Basically the Dragooner has to defend the floating island. If the island is destroyed or if the Dragoone’s life goes zero then the level fails. Speaking of the level, the game progresses in a number of waves where enemies invade. If you die somewhere during the wave, you can restart from the same wave again. It does get harder as the waves get higher which is natural. When controlling your Dragooner, you can make him go up and down as well as in a 360 degree movement. Players can click on the level to make the dragon in which the Dragooner breath fire to attack. You have to aim the dragon to hit the targets. In the same time the Dragooner will also automatically fire his boomerang on to the targets. You can’t control the Dragoner’s aim but it moves in an angle that will hit multiple targets in one turn. In each wave there are a number of enemies that appear. They also appear in different directions so you have to dispatch them quickly to move to the next set of enemies. You can also summon a dragon to help you battle the enemies. These summoned dragons can die but they’ll be able to be summoned later on once they’re revived. In the floating island there are shops that allow you to upgrade yourself. You can upgrade your offensive properties. This allows you to own more equipment and different kinds of attacks. There is also a shop that you can use to upgrade your defensive properties. Then there is a shop that allows you to buy and upgrade the dragons you can use in battle. Make sure to defend your island from the invading enemies to ensure everyone has a nice day.
