The Best Computer Keyboard Is Inspired By The Nintendo GameCube?
In recent years, I have gone through a couple of keyboards for my main computer and my studio. One of the issues is I had my old Logitech keyboard just fall and break one of the buttons. I was sent a keyboard and mouse for review a few months ago which seemed to work okay initially but the battery life was terrible. As such, what am I to do? Well, gaming accessory manufacturer Nyxi has a very cool looking keyboard called the Stryker, and with my appreciation for their controllers in the past, I definitely wanted to check out. Let's take a look at what could be the best keyboard for your computer, and it's inspired by the Nintendo GameCube!
What's in the box:
Striker keyboard
USB A to USB-C cable
2.4 GHz dongle
Key puller
Extra keys

From the box I can appreciate the fact that they include a key puller. That means they can sell one QWERTY keyboard and for those who use other keyboard formats internationally They don't need to have more than one SKU. Smart on their part!
One of the really cool things about the Striker is the fact that it can work in one of three different modes. You can connect it to your computer and use it as a USB keyboard, therefore you don't need to worry about battery at all. It does include a dongle for 2.4 GHz usage, and you can pair it to three different devices via Bluetooth. This is super convenient.
One issue I did run into on initial setup was Bluetooth pairing. The instruction manual tells you to hold down the FN +Q/W/E. At least that's the way I was interpreting it. In reality what the instruction manual was stating was that you hold down function and just one of those three keys. See the thing is the function and Q, W, & E keys select which Bluetooth device you are paired to. It took me a while to catch on to that but once I did we were ready to go.
I was immediately impressed by the haft and weight of the Striker keyboard. It's not a lightweight device, and that tells me that it probably has some pretty decent materials underneath the plastic shell. Speaking of the plastic shell, I absolutely love the GameCube inspired chassis and keys. They look fantastic paired together.
So how is the overall responsiveness? Well, it feels like a mechanical keyboard. It has a good click and springiness to it as I type. In fact I'm using it right now to type up this review!
One thing that you should not overlook is the optional software Nyxi has that allows you to further customize the Striker keyboard. You can set macros, hotkeys, you can even customize the LCD display in the top right hand corner. I couldn't help myself, of course I'm put the rXp in the upper right hand corner display.
I absolutely love this keyboard, the one thing that I still need to test out is what the battery life is like. You can customize the RGB colors underneath the keyboard if you want, you can also turn them off entirely which would further enhance your battery life. While not an inexpensive keyboard, it's not cheap either. It's made out of quality components, they include spare components as well, and I have to say working on it has been a delight so far.
