What Video Game Items Did You Give and Get This Christmas?
Christmas time is one of the most popular times to both give and get video game systems, games, and accessories. In recent years the video game industry has also seen an explosion in other gift type items, like swag, decorations, lights, and more. So what video game-related items did you either give or get this year for Christmas? Here's what went down in our house!
My youngest has become a gamer, just as her older sister and I did before her. As such she had a few things on her wish list. One of the biggest things she wanted was a Princess Peach controller for the Nintendo Switch. Granted, she has a Switch Lite but we play on the TV together a lot. I had searched and searched and the only controller I found that fit the bill was from PowerA. I'm not the biggest fan of their controllers, as they tend to be overpriced for the features they deliver. But for her it's perfect with her favorite character on it.
She also loves playing the Bluey Video Game on our Xbox Series S, but that's literally all we use the system for right now. On Black Friday Amazon had the Switch version down to $20 so I grabbed it. For less than 1 month of Game Pass, we now own the game.
My wife always strives to get me something gaming-related for Christmas, and even with things being as tight as they have been she still killed it. Ornaments are a huge part of our tradition, so she killed it with 2 great ornament sets. First was a 6-pack of Mario Power-Ups that look fantastic. Second was Super Mario Collecting Coins out of New Super Mario Bros. The sound effects on this are awesome and I loved it when I saw it back in July.
She also does a great job picking out fun gaming shirts for me and she found another great one. This Mario shirt has him surrounded by various power-ups, and again just looks fun.
Finally, my youngest found a set of Mario LED Lights that feature 8-bit Mario surrounded by various power-ups that looks fantastic. I can't wait to unbox and set this up here in the game room.
What gaming items did you give or get this Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
