The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind | Final Battle at Red Mountain
#elderscrolls #nocommentary #letsplay
It’s time. No turning back. I put on the boots of blinding speed and I was able to avoid the blind effect for the most part. I ran my way to the Ghostgate but as I arrived there I felt compelled to go in for a Cyrodiliic brandy. As I went in I met with an old man. He seemed to be a veteran for the Imperial Legion and we spoke for a bit. He asked what I was doing here and I responded that I will put an end to Dagoth Ur. The old man grinned and handed me a coin. He said it was lucky and I could do him the favor of taking this count with me to battle. I humored him and accepted his favor. In return I asked that he pay for my brandy when I return.
Of course I couldn’t face Dagoth Ur right away I still needed Keening and Sunder. So I entered Endusal seeking one of the two artfiacts. Unfortunately the only thing there was one of Dagoths vampires so I took care of it and left. Red Mountain is a terrible place to navigate through with its constant ashstorms. The next ruin was Vemynal where I found Sunder. This hammer holds a mighty enchantment and is sure to be the instrument for stopping Dagoth. I hope my next destination holds the next artifact I need.
Tureynulal was next on the list and I couldn’t find Keening. I’m seeing all these Dagoth vampires roaming around in these Dwemer ruins and I wonder if eliminating them does anything. I entered Odrosal and found what I had been searching for: Keening. This enchanted blade was unlike anything I had ever seen before. I hold in possession many daedric artifacts with unique appearances and properties, but this is something else. It’s no wonder that these guys have it in their possession. With all that out of the way, I finally make my way to Dagoth Ur.
His lair is the same as it was the first time I visited. Though its inhabitants are different from the ones I faced, the layout is the same. The only difference was that Dagoth kept beckoning me. Again, I felt that same feeling of familiarity. The feeling of knowing someone that you haven’t seen in years along with that impending dread creeping behind it. Facing the door into Dagoth’s chambers I braced myself for something fierce. I entered and confronted him. We spoke at length questioning each other and when it was all said and done he made the first move. I struck back and won with ease!
Of course, it couldn’t be that easy, in the next chamber I was met with Dagoth once more along with Akulakhan. It’s stature was breath taking, yet I could not admire it for long since Dagoth pressed me. I unleashed a barrage of chops and slashes, but to no avail. He truly was invunerable to damage. Then it hit me: I should push him over the ledge! He survived but now I could calmly asses what I need to do. I approached the heart and made the following strikes as per Vivec’s instructions. Dagoth appeared behind me and I fought him once more. With the heart gone and Dagoth slain, Azura blessed me with her presence and I accepted from her hand the Ring of Azura.
Of course… I had one more task to follow up on…
