Well, an official virtual reality version of Five Nights at Freddy’s is finally on the way. This should be fun.

We first learned about Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted from you guys, in the comments section to our other videos on Scott Cawthon, FNAF, and FNAF World. We were excited to go and watch the teaser trailer, which left us with one big question.
Who on Earth are Steel Wool games?!

Strangely, it seemed like nobody we came across from the FNAF fan community had compiled much research on the company, even though they’re the ones making the new VR FNAF game. So, we did our own digging, and we’re very glad we did.

It turns out that Steel Wool Studios, formerly Steel Wool games, was founded by Pixar employees who wanted to make a game as a side project, just for fun.

This was interesting enough, but when we learned about Joshua Qualtieri and his failed dreams of working for NASA, and how that led to the development of Mars Odyssey, we knew that this was a story we needed to tell.

Apologies if this video seems a little like on Freddy Fasbear content. We’re hoping to provide a basic understanding of who Steel Wool is, and what led them to work on Help Wanted. If you’ve ever wondered who Scott Cawthon has trusted with his beloved horror franchise, rest assured: the series is in good hands.

Hey, have you noticed how our past few videos have been just a little short of that magic 10 minute marker, meaning that we can’t put an ad break in the middle of them? That’s because now that YouTube is putting multiple ads in mid-video breaks, it feels kinda cheeky to make you sit through them.

Sure, we could have made this video longer. We could have talked about how the team at Steel Wool recreated bits of Sister Location that Scott thought was even better than his original work on the game. But this felt tangential to the story we were telling, and we didn’t want to waste your time for the sake of a few extra bucks.
But, if you would like to help us out, bear in mind that the shorter, more focused videos mean the almighty Algorithm doesn’t like us as much, so all shares are greatly appreciated.

We could also do with making up for the lost revenue if you feel like kicking us a buck or two on Patreon, but we hardly want to be pushy about these things. If you can’t (or simply don’t want to) give, no biggie. Either way, here’s the link:

Anyway, we love you very much and we’ll see you next week with a really exciting video – upcoming indie game developer Mariano Cavallero reached out to us and asked us to cover his new game, Forager, which is being published by Humble Bundle and which releases next Thursday! That video was really interesting to work on, and Mariano’s story is so powerful that we know you’ll love it.

See you then!
