Persona 5’s Joker has finally arrived on Super Smash Bros Ultimate!

This is big, exciting news for anyone who, like us, is a big fan of the Persona series of games. It’s also a bit of a pain, as this video was only half ready before we discovered that Joker was coming, so we’ve had to rush through its completion.

Seriously, finishing videos after midnight is getting tiring.

While any game company would be thrilled to have their game represented in Smash, Joker was included in the roster at Masahiro Sakurai’s special request. Sakurai is a huge fan of all the Persona games, in particularly the latest in the series, so he threw his support behind Joker before the Phantom Thieves had even appeared on a Nintendo platform.

Kotor is the bigger Persona fan in our family. He played Persona 5 for the first time last year, and fell in love with the whole aesthetic.
Then he bought a PS Vita to play Persona 4 Golden. Then he played Persona 3 Portable on it too. Now he’s replaying Persona 5, and wondering whether he should romance Makoto again, or branch out and see what Tae Takemi’s romance is like.

Kotor wrote a preview of Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth that appears in the upcoming issue of Nintendo Force magazine, and last issue, he drew a comic all about the game. Yes, he loves Persona so much that he convinced Lucas Thomas, the editor of the magazine, to print a comic about a PlayStation 4 exclusive title in a Nintendo magazine.

We haven’t done a full Persona video yet, but it is on our list. We’ll see whether or not there’s an audience for such a thing based on how this video performs. In the meantime, we’re crossing our fingers that the rumoured Persona 5S is a Switch game!

Anyway, it’s nearly 1am. We need sleep. Lots of love!
