Twin Eagle: Revenge Joe's Brother (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Romstar's 1989 NES game, Twin Eagle: Revenge Joe's Brother.
Twin Eagle is a port of the 1988 arcade shoot 'em up by the same name by Seta. Unfortunately, the game loses a lot of what made the original so notable in the conversion to the NES. It was pretty famous for its use of digitization for graphics and sound, and the NES just isn't up to pulling off those types of feats like much newer, more capable arcade hardware was.
Faults of over-ambition aside, Twin Eagle is a serviceable shooter. The bullets stand out well against the backgrounds, there's little flicker, and the soundtrack, though repetitive, is catchy. It is awfully easy, though, by NES shmup standards. It's a fun diversion, but it's short-lived and quickly forgotten. Gradius, this is not.
