Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - PlayStation 4 - Intro & Arcade playthrough [HD 1080p 60fps]
Full playthrough / longplay / trueplay of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds on the PS4. Using a team of Ryu, Spiderman and Hawkeye. If like us you are fans of the Marvel Capcom fighting games then prepare to shed tears as until Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite arrived on the scene, this was the worst installment in the series.
Capcom shot themselves in the foot badly with Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to then release a DLC update version only months later just made the issues worse. A poor balanced game developed by a studio that didn't understand the series and using a fight control system designed for the Wii, would only ever be a train wreck of a game. That ended up going backwards not forwards for the series, partly this was due to the developer 8ing inexperience with the series and fighting games. As a result the design of the game was geared towards the small tournament scene and not the general player and fan base. What worked in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars on Wii in a 2 vs 2 system, turned out not to work that well in MvC3 when used in a 3 vs 3 fight system
Thus the game ends up as a spam heavy title, where you win by the cheapest methods and abuse infinite combos. Ruining the online play and saw players leaving it in droves, the lack of counter and combo breaker moves, means beginner player never stood a chance against veterans and makes matches boring one punch infinite combo wins. The whole fighting system is badly dumbed-down from early games and even, many core moves from the series have had their inputs needlessly changed for no reason, while many other moves have just been removed. The 3D models lack the character of the 2D sprite artwork from the earlier games. Someone should have also reminded 8ing and Capcom that MvC2 was a supposed swansong for the series, hence why the fighting system in it was a bit broken as the game was release near the end of their original license deal.
Even Galactus is a messy fight, that fails to understand how the boss battles in the earlier games worked. Some of his moves are overpowered and just kill the player regardless of what you do. If he just spams certain attacks like the full screen laser you will be in real trouble quickly. To show this we kept in the lost against Galactus, could have just redone the run, but it shows the nature of how random the fight can be at times. The heralds fight can also go wrong very quickly if they are allowed to attack from both sides. Least in this version you can unlock Galactus if you earn 30,000 player points. Not totally without merit as a fighting game, but best played with a mate or in arcade mode on you're own. Fans of the series should avoid this entry less they want to see red, get MvC2 or MSHvsSF instead.
