Unity 3d: Audio randomization controller made easy - Cujo Sound Design Part 8.
Cujo Sound - WhiteNoiseTrash: Is a video game audio development channel by Bjørn Jacobsen.
I discuss game audio development, implementation, asset creation, thoughts, ideas, opinions. Everything from home made simple recordings, over in-engine implementation to massive final productions of cinematics.
In this episode I will create a simple randomization tool. It can randomize between different audio files and pitch, as well as having a setup that it allows communication with programmers to be much easier in the future.
Perfect for footsteps or single sounds that needs randomization, you can expand it to control much more by adding simple parameters yourself.
You no longer have to explain yourself every time you want something randomized or setup, you only have to ask for one line of code which is a simple call. Save programmer time and save your own time and remove the nuisance of having to invent the wheel every time you want something simple to happen.
For non-programmer audio designers by a non-programmer audio designer.
Props goes to Christian Schubert for helping me out with the namespace issues I had before I made this video. :)
If you have any questions or thoughts, let me know in the comments below and I'll be happy to explain a few things and discuss game audio with you.
