USB C Vlogging Microphone for Android Smartphones - DIY Nano USB C Modular Vlogging Mic Omni Capsule
24In this video I'm testing my new DIY Nano USB C vlogging microphone which is designed for Android Smartphones, or any device that is USB C audio compatible.
This is basically an Apple USB C headphone adapter cable that has the ability to accept a TTRS microphone.
As you se in the video, I glue the Apple USB C headphone into a right angle so that the female 3.5mm TRRS jack plug socket faces forward or rear of the phone.
In this instance I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S21 with my USB C vlogging mic, although most nearly any USB C Android Smartphone will work with this mic.
I use a TRRS microphone as the donor body for the modular element of the microphone. In this instance I've used a Primo EM272 to replace the original capsule in the TRRS mic. This then gives me an omni-directional microphone module.
I will try a few other omni capsules and some cardiod capsules until I settle on two microphone modules for this modular system, an omni microphone module and a cardioid microphone module.
