Fun New Year's Nintendo Switch Games For Casual & Non-Gamers
49When friends and family get together for the holidays, it is not uncommon for games to be played among everybody. In recent years it has become more and more popular to break out video games to play, but what do you play that could appeal to casual gamers, more experienced gamers, and people who aren't gamers at all? Well, for New Year's 2024, here are three Nintendo Switch games that would appeal Casual Games, Non-Gamers, and Competitive Gamers that I highly recommend.
Casual Gamers:
Nintendo Switch Sports
If one game was responsible for selling consoles more than just about any other, it has to be Nintendo Wii Sports. So many people bought a Wii just for Wii bowling. After its initial release, Nintendo didn't do much with the franchise until Nintendo Switch Sports. It has a lot of what made the original so popular, a great version of bowling, badminton, basketball, soccer, and more. Best of all the controls are much more precise using the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons compared to the Wii remote.
Experienced gamers:
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Oh man, if there's one game that has caused more arguments over the holidays than Mario Kart I don't know what it would be. From the challenging tracks, the vehicle customizations, the different characters you can play as, and that damned blue shell Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a must-play and a must-own for anyone with a Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, or Switch OLED. While often there can be never-ending laughter, there can also be some four-letter words thrown about when someone gets defeated.
Non-gamers:
Use Your Words
Available on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox, & PlayStation, Use Your Words is a funny game for unfunny people and their friends. If you like JackBox games, specifically Quiplash, I think you will enjoy Use Your Words. It's agame where people use their phones or tablets to answer different questions and scenarios on screen. If you are a Steam user, the sequel, USe Your Words 2, just released! It will be coming to other systems very soon.
