Wild Riders - Arcade Sega NAOMI 2 - Attract, intro and playthrough as Keith [UHD 4K60]
Full longplay / playthrough / walkthrough of the Wow Entertainment motorcycle driving game Wild Riders released on Sega NAOMI 2 arcade hardware and plays like a cross between Outrun, Chase HQ and Hang On. You play as either Keith Raven or Trish Moon members of different biker games and the aim is to out run the Police.
You do this by jumping and sliding your way out of trouble, you have a chase meter at the top and depending how you perform depends how close the Police are to you. Crashing into walls, cars and failing jumps will cause them to gain on you. Where as driving fast, racking up bonus points and scoring S Ranks causes you to gain distance.
Very enjoyable as an arcade game and still looks great all these years later, clearly borrowing the cell shaded art style seen in Jet Set Radio and mixing it with a bit of the comic theme from Comix Zone. Like many Sega arcade games from that era it never got a home port, perhaps this might be down to the length as the game feels very short with only one track, even for an arcade game. Making even us wonder if Wow Entertainment had planned to do more stages at one point. Certainly any home port would have required a lot more work. Still with the original arcade being very hard to find, it's nice to know the game now works on Demul in a playable state, even if it's not perfect. One of Sega's lesser known titles that needs a lot more respect these days.
