The King of Fighters Neowave - PlayStation 2 - Intro & Playthrough Fatal Fury Team 1CC [4K60]
Full gameplay longplay / playthrough / walkthrough / guide / trueplay of The King of Fighters Neowave which was little more than a test build of the game for the Sammy's Atomiswave arcade hardware. This should have actually had the name of The King of Fighters 2004 and it is in fact the eleveth (XI) entry in the main series. We suggestion someone at Playmore couldn't count when they called KoF 2005, XI (11) oops and still can't continue to count either.
First point to note, our video is of the PAL PS2 release which while supports 60Hz, had the 480p support removed. So if you are looking to pick up a copy go for a NTSC-J release where possible.
Neowave is largely just a mishmash of previous games of the series. The only newish character is the boss who is the younger Geese Howard based on his Art of Fighting 2 version. Geese has however, previously appeared in King of Fighters games, first playable in 1996 using his Fatal Fury / Garou design.
Asides from a rather ugly looking HUD and three different fights system and 3D backgrounds there isn't much new here. Largely this looks like a huge sprite rip from previous titles in the series, featuring over 40 characters. The home port added extra characters with the PS2 version having the most as it is the only version to include Angel & May Lee. As a KoF games goes it is once of the worst outing in the series, but it's a solid title with one of the bigger rosters in the franchise. There are far worst fighting games out there to spend your money on, even if this one does look like a fan made MUGEN title. Full one credit clear, Geese Howard has some terrible A.I. and you can spam him for an easy victory with certain moves.
