It is the final episode of Smackdown Live before the Extreme Rules Pay Per View, and the opening match is a Falls Count Anywhere match with Kane taking on AJ Styles. The match starts in the ring than goes into the crowd, than backstage in the locker-Room. Kane and AJ Styles beat the hell out of each other, using everything in the area as a weapon. AJ Styles manages to put Kane away just 2 days before meeting Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt have a match, and with both high profile competitors at their best it's a great match. Orton manages to pick up the victory, but Luke harper attacks Orton after the match. However Orton makes short work out of Harper as well. In a preview match of this Sundays Smackdown Women's Championship match, champion Becky Lynch takes on Alexa Bliss in a non title match. Becky Lynch defeats Alexa Bliss, but can she do the same at Extreme Rules and hold onto the championship? AJ Styles heads to the ring to call out Dean Ambrose, they have a promo battle with Dean Ambrose winning the promo. In the Smackdown Live main event, Dean Ambrose takes on Dolph Ziggler. Dean Ambrose launches literally no offense during the match, leading to Dolph Ziggler capturing a clean win against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, in what was a disastrous main even just 2 days before Extreme Rules.
