Hello again.

In today's episode, our psychopathic squadron continues its existence by going all around City 31.
Whisper has a moment of joy here, however, as the target of the mission is something he likes a lot.

I'm back at the Avenger at long last. Was granted permission to return to the base. Didn't object in any way - peaceful life is fine, but for now I need XCOM for my own goals.

Truth be told, I'm damn lucky that I didn't open that door in the Chryssalid lab. Finding that there is an unshielded power core close to meltdown was unnerving as hell however...

I just... Well, I have a theory why I had to investigate the lab. Either alien alloys are that heat-resistant so what I've encountered inside didn't get out with a boom, or Kelly wanted to troll me.
And I'm favoring the second option. She knew that I would survive, no doubt. But this mission should be investigated by a dedicated team, not one man.

The first option is valid too just because we didn't see any heat signatures at all before I've arrived. Considering the impressive amount of crap that still was intact there - there's definitely a scan jammer to hide any suspicions. Because otherwise you would see that scan from Jupiter or, for God's sake, beyond the Solar System!

Still, the Resistance is lucky that I had ventured there, otherwise there could be a sudden nuclear explosion in the next year when most harmful radiation pollution would had decayed and proper cleaning began. How you could have covered that, Kelly? A sudden "Power Outbreak in Bugtown"? I wouldn't buy it myself.

The data I've recovered from the lab is interesting at the very least... With permission from Essentuki, we had used our captive contact, Ax'Omow. Surprisingly enough, he's become even more erudite since my last converstation with him.
But that doesn't matter - he was an alien engineer during the invasion, as was revealed just yesterday from continued interrogations. Why he became a guard for ADVENT VIP - don't ask me! But the fact that he knew the alien language had been exquisitely amazing - we'd spend a month deciphering all that even with the Shadow Chamber!

The intel from network node told us that there's still some ADVENT generals coordinating remaining alien fortresses. From where - I wanna know myself. There were names like Konnas Bog, Bellus Mar and such, so we know whom to search. One of them is, however, responsible for the activation of Chryssalid madness in Novosibirsk.

And this data was deleted, so we are with empty hands on that matter. It isn't important anyway. Our job is to find anything resisting our liberation and either get the thing to sleep in prison cells. Or to experience the exact thing we've been enjoying for previous twenty one years.

That's it for now concerning Novosibirsk. Because I did this job alone, and managed to prove Central that this wasn't something you should do solo, I've got a clearance for me going back to legacy XCOM's HQ.

I really want to find out what this "Bureau" business really was, and I won't give up on that.
But until then... oh, how I missed you, alloy bed.
