Episode 13's link --    • XCOM Chimerian Squadron - Episode 13 ...

Hello again.

This mission is good. Why it's good? Today - we're going to take a decisive blow on Sacred Coil, Watchers and Commenters!
Let's get ready for intense action!

On the other hand, and I want to say this - I had almost no progress on XCOM 2 TSE. Until I get both Extended Dossiers Issue 1 and XCOM 2 TSE Episode 10 done, I'm halting the series about Chimerian Squadron.

Laziness is a deadly sin indeed.

And so here we are, at the presumed place of EXALT back in 2015. There were rumors about skyscrapers around this location - they're no more by the time we've arrived.

I was lost, not knowing what to say. But John had found the solution - XCOM was underground, right? Maybe EXALT did use a basement for their plans back then?

Yeah, that could be a possibility, I've thought. And we went to scan the area for the entrance below the eyes of not knowing.
We tried a lot of things with John - visual clues, wind and wall investigation, thermal analysis of the area. Nothing worked.

Maybe the underground didn't exist... until I had an idea - maybe there's another spot where that could be? John did say that he knew how EXALT helicopters looked like. We spent almost five days searching for an old 2015 footage of this city.

And finally, we saw EXALT helicopters, transferring to an old sewer treatment plant. And - thank God - the plant was refurnished with ADVENT alloy walls, but still intact! Descending into the unknown, we travelled through the tubes of the Old World.

And finally, we've found a bunker door, sealed shut. We didn't shy from using the Blaster Launcher on the door - Papatamelis loved them, so why not us - and the door was no more. Internal sewer walls were strong, and we didn't get flooded.

The bunker itself was supposed to be opened when the aliens could have won. But the door malfunctioned, with bunker's inhabitants soon dying out of starvation. The decor was strong, impressive wooden beams and exotic animal furs providing a striking contrast for the Avenger and legacy XCOM HQ.

And finally, we've found the answer to my search of the Bureau. EXALT was actually once an intel cell of the Bureau, in fact something that inherited that organization principles. The Bureau itself was a clandestine organization of USA, directed at battling the communist threat coming from USSR, with links dating back to old times of illuminati controlship.

Yeah, the spycraft was strong during that time. But hey, I know some Russians which are actually alright.

But okay. There actually was an invasion before the one in 2015! The Ethereals actually did attack us during the sixties! According to the old logs of the Bureau (which EXALT had polished to be their sacred grail), lots of species were observed - Sectoids (of course, figures), actually free Mutons and something called Outsiders. John did re-collect battling the Outsiders in 2015, but what was written in the logs definitely wasn't 2015's species.

The only place for attack was USA this time. Looks like they could only attack with their recon craft instead of what I've experienced myself. Pentagon was scared shitless - and so XCOM was born out of the Bureau. EXALT wanted to abuse the aliens while XCOM's job was the same - kill the aliens.

And that was what led to a schism... Then John said that he understood how EXALT had access to XCOM-style equipment - we had the same origins. A terrifying story of an organization ripping apart into its own cells, rivalling between each other even if it was unknown.

Before we left the bunker, I've found one interesting detail - captured alien species all referred to something named "the Greatest One", with the most important ones naming it "the Great Dreamer".

Ax'Omow's words are worrying me - if there's that much aliens talking about the Greatest One, now known as the Great Dreamer... maybe the Great Dreamer is actually real. According to Ax'Omow, he was the one who could reshape reality with his mind to suit his needs. A truly powerful being - way beyond the Ethereals I know and Essentuki - the Ultimate Alien.

We've been receiving creepy reports from Templars about increased psionic activity in our world's oceans. Damn, I hope that's not the Great Dreamer in question. Because if it is...

We're in big trouble...
