Hello again.

I'm not myself today, so I decided to check my legacy footage predating (or being created alongside) XCOM UFO Defense LP. And I've struck on my legacy Chimerian Squadron recordings (they won't make for a full playthrough, there's about 8 episodes in total).

I decided to put the very first episode, which happened to be this game's tutorial, to good use.
Because this was created during UFO Defense LP era, the resolution here is 1920x1080, not my currently regular 2560x1440. And the font is Advent once again to pay homage to that era. Plus I decided not to upscale it this time to keep this in line with my starter videos from the second coming (Sonic CD Episodes 5-7 era).

Expect me to play even poorer than in the proper playthrough, because I didn't know what uses one action and what is full turn by this point.

I won't do Jared's story this time, because this episode should haven't been released on YT (it was originally planned for VK) in the first place, but here it is.

So, this is the technical information.

Now, the information about the one and only - Termy the Medic.

Here's a thing - because of really weird voice acting (along with quote "Let's get your insides back inside", which delivery had won several Oscars) and equally hideous smile from Termy, I've come to regard her as a creepy, constantly laughing pyromaniac medic of the team to get the most fun out of her.

In the tutorial though, Termy however has a much better snark, not so much laughing about the most mundane things possible, not being too relaxed about her job, and actually believably interested in getting to know if this is how XCOM operated in a nutshell. And her smiles (only in cutscenes, she still has this super scary teethless smile here inside the game) don't come off as super weird, forced and without teeth.

So, from now on, I'm separating Termy in tutorial/trailers from Termy in game proper.
Because Termy in tutorial is a better, and actually sometimes deserving of a legit chuckle, snark person with laid-back attitude (and an incurable disease I think? I don't remember - if you do, write down in the comments for other Watchers and Commenters to see, please) with respect to commandship than the "talking with fire's insides and constantly laughing at Patchy's zapping", stealing-from-Whisper completely non-believable psychopath from official developers that somehow got place in Reclamation Agency, the place with admittedly high standards.

That's how this game's voice acting as a whole can ruin Termy. Because in the tutorial-exclusive quotes she really sounds alright, if quite snarky, not as uncannily as in regular episodes.

But anyway, I'll still ridicule Termy whom is in my normal playthrough. And that's what I had to say about her.

See you soon in Episode 12, Watchers and Commenters.
