The Xenonauts have been beaten back by the aliens. The very public defeat has caused the governments of the world to step back approval of the project. The alien heavy infantry were resistant to our weapons. Our adaptations to the invasion could not have accounted for this. Our aircraft has been able to defeat their craft, however, the power balance has been flipped. Now we are on the run ground side. Finally, the aliens have made a permanent landfall.

We have secured a location that will enable them to instigate the local governments to declare cooperation. Our robotic infantry has helped maintain our less compliant organic army. However, we will continue to need our clones to conduct more complicated missions. The humans will soon fall. It was some amount of concern regarding how well they were able to fend off our initial invasion. Despite their inadequacies, we may find a use for them within the empire. Player's note.

I do not think I am able to go head to head with the robot enemy. It seems like they are a tech level above us in terms of tanking ballistic weapons. Imagine how much more thorough our loss would have been if we had not brought all those rockets with us? It looks like the smart thing to do is hold off on ground missions until I can afford some laser weapons. Then at least I can try to fight them on an equal playing field tactically. This playthrough I do not follow that advice and fight them prematurely. But it would be boring if I did not at leasst try.
